After college I worked as a technical writer and editor for several years. Over time I realized I preferred figuring out how technical things work (and making them work better) to writing about how technical things work. Got my MCSE and worked my way into LAN design/management/security. During my last "gig," I worked as an IT manager.

Miscellaneous recommendations:	Sony's noise-canceling headphones (MDR-NC6). Comfortable, fit well, sound great, and the price is right. ;-)
